ロウバイは、花被片がろう細工のようであることからその名がついたといわれ、中国が原産で江戸時代初期に朝鮮から渡来したことから唐梅（からうめ）とも呼ばれます。12月下旬から花が咲き始め、1月上旬から2月上旬が見頃となります。
冬の青く澄んだ空に透き通るように奥ゆかしく咲く黄色い花と、甘く上品な香りに癒されます。まれに雪が降り積もると、周辺の山々の風景と一体となって、いっそう美しい景観が広がります。
細野地区にはその名所が2か所あり、花と香りを楽しむことができます。

Sweet Scent of Wintersweet Filling the Air of the Rural Landscape
Wintersweet
Wintersweet is said to have earned its Japanese name, Robai, because its petals resemble waxwork. Native to China and introduced to Japan via the Korean Peninsula in the early Edo period, it is also called Karaume (Chinese Plum). The flowers are at their best from early January to early February. The yellow flowers blooming translucently with a quiet, reserved elegance against the clear blue winter sky, combined with the sweet and elegant scent, soothe the soul. On the rare occasions when snow blankets the area, it blends seamlessly with the surrounding mountains to create an even more breathtaking landscape. There are two renowned locations in the Hosono area where visitors can fully enjoy the beauty and fragrance of the blossoms.

Hoa lạp mai
Hoa lạp mai là loài hoa có tên gọi bắt nguồn từ hình dáng của cánh hoa giống như đồ thủ công bằng sáp, một loại nghệ thuật thủ công Nhật Bản. Hoa có nguồn gốc từ Trung Quốc và được đưa vào Nhật Bản từ Triều Tiên vào đầu thời kỳ Edo, vì vậy đôi khi nó còn được gọi là Karaume. Hoa lạp mai thường nở vào khoảng từ đầu tháng 1 đến đầu tháng 2. Những bông hoa vàng nở thanh thoát, như trong suốt dưới bầu trời xanh trong của mùa đông, và mùi hương ngọt ngào, tinh tế khiến người ta cảm thấy thư giãn. Đôi khi, những lớp tuyết phủ kín tạo nên một quang cảnh hợp nhất giữa những ngọn núi xung quanh – một quang cảnh tuyệt vời hơn bao giờ hết. Tại khu vực Hosono, có 2 địa điểm nổi tiếng. Du khách có thể tận hưởng cảnh sắc và hương hoa tại nơi này.

蠟梅
蠟梅因花瓣宛如蠟製工藝而得名，原產於中國，江戶時代初期由朝鮮傳入日本，因而被稱為「唐梅」。花期盛開於一月上旬至二月上旬。冬日澄 的藍天下，半透明般含蓄綻放的黃色花朵，其甜美高雅的香氣，令人心曠神怡。偶爾積雪覆蓋時，花景與周圍群山融為一體，更添幾分秀麗動人的景致。細野地區有兩處蠟梅名勝，可盡情賞花聞香。
